Great to see this support for Tracy who is one of the most passionate and best female vocalists I know. Tracy has survived a great deal of personal and generational trauma. Far too many First Nations peoples have had to endure this abuse, passed down through the generations by a federal system which though is showing signs of owning up to this systemic abuse, is not moving fast enough in my humble opinion. Colonizing nations of the world are united in this nefarious regard. The facts remain what they are, and truth too long kept hidden, is being exposed faster now in the past decade than in decades before; but still, in our everyday we skim the surface of injustice and carry on. Some fall away perhaps as the colonizing great great grandfathers had hoped and expected. Some live to tell the tale of the families and lives torn asunder. Brave, is a song I wrote with my friend Duane Steele, that speaks to the love and support of family. All families that are true, value this unspoken bond.
